Community Engagement Services

Providing youth and young adults who experience developmental disabilities the opportunity to lead a meaningful and inclusive life through engagement in inclusive and community based social and leisure experiences.

We facilitate seven programs that are uniquely designed to meet the social and emotional needs of group participants by engaging them in diverse approaches for social connection and recreational participation through community based outings.

The goals of our community engagement services are to actively engage individuals in activities that support what they need to be successful in forming relationships with peers, accessing inclusive community social activities, and safely navigating integrated settings.

For Teens

  • Peer to Peer After School Social Club

  • Saturday Socials

  • Summer Social Squad

For Young Adults

  • Young Adult Connections

  • Young Adult Life Skills Group

  • Gal Pals

  • Teams Tuesday

Young Adult Connections

A community based recreational group focused on helping young adults access their community for leisure purposes while also building and maintaining healthy relationships with peers.

Teams Tuesday

A social group for adults who love all things gaming. This group will be getting to know each other while playing a wide variety of games and engaging in team-building activities. We have board games, card games (Uno, anyone?), as well as Family Feud, The Price Is Right, plus MANY more. These sessions will be decided by the participants, as to what they would like to learn and/or play.

Young Adult Life Skills Group

Those who are interested in developing their independent living and home management skills in a fun and recreational setting will be engaged in hands on activities that aide in the development of skills such as:

  • Creating Daily Routines

  • Home Alone Safety

  • Meal Planning and Preparation

  • Budgeting

  • Cleaning & Household Management

  • DIY Projects: Household & Gardening

Peer to Peer After School Social Club

A youth social group that meets Monday through Friday during after school hours and provides participants the opportunity to engage with peers who have similar interests and ability levels while improving their own social, self-management, and adaptive skills. Individuals in this program will enjoy weekly themed activities, crafts and construction, and an introduction to cooking and home management skills.

Saturday Socials

A community-based recreational program designed to provide youth with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of community outings while also making friends and building relationships with their peers.

Gal Pals

Summit Social Center

In July 2023, we opened the doors of our new social and recreational facility, affectionately named the Summit Social Center. Our larger space is designed to foster an environment where those we support can mingle and socialize with friends while also learning new life and self help skills.
